Our Pharmacy

Welcome to Maroochy Day and Night Pharmacy.

This pharmacy started being the only day and night pharmacy on the sunshine coast open from 8am to 10pm many years ago. We brought this pharmacy 12 years ago and decided to put a little compounding room in this day and night pharmacy.

That's how we started bringing a bit of niche on the sunshine coast and we started looking after patients that require their medications to be compounded.

In Addition, in the last 5 years, we have decided to specialized in Mother and Baby and IVF, hence we decided to stock children clothing, toys, and stationary and a range of baby needs such as Medela breast pump hire and the sale of breast pump s. We are also one of few pharmacies on the sunshine coast who stock or source some of the IVF medications that you required, as long as you give us some time to organise for you.

We also stocks a range of hire equipment such as wheel chairs, showers chairs, crutches, wheelie walker , nebuilzer etc, so feel free to call us on 07 54436070 or email us on your needs or fill in our online request form, will get back to you as soon as we can.

Maroohy Compounding

Here you can talk to practitioners who are qualified in both mainstream and complementary medicines. You can get all your prescriptions dispensed and shop for all your natural health, skincare and health food.

Our goal of compounding is to work with the prescribers in order to help the patient achieve the best therapeutic outcome. Compounded medications are “made from scratch”, individual ingredients are mixed together in the strength and dosage form required by the patient.

We provides a more suitable and personalized alternative to the “one-size-fits-all” nature of mass-produced medications.

Innovative compounding technology and techniques has allowed pharmacists to customise medications specifically to your individual needs. Compounding is ideal for patients who are unable to conform to commercial ‘off the shelf’ medication.

The patient may choose whether the medication is prepared as a capsule, cream, gel, troche, pessary, suppository, solution, drop or spray. We can personalise medicines for patients who need specific:

  • Strengths

  • Dosage forms

  • Flavors

  • Ingredients removed due to allergies and sensitivities

We comply with strict standards and procedures within our laboratory, to ensure quality compounds are delivered each and every time.

We aim for a 24-hour turn around on all compounding prescriptions (Mon-Fri 8am-4pm). Our customers may choose whether to call, fax, email or personally bring in their prescription. We also post Australia-wide.

What is integrative medicine?

Integrative Medicine is the practice of medicine that reaffirms the importance of the relationship between practitioner and patient, focuses on the whole person, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapeutic approaches, healthcare professionals, and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing.

What is functional medicine?

Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease using a systems-oriented approach and engaging both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership. Functional medicine involves understanding the origins, prevention, and treatment of complex, chronic disease. Hallmarks of a functional medicine approach include:

  1. Patient-centered care. The focus of functional medicine is on patient-centered care promoting health as a positive vitality; beyond just the absence of disease. By listening to the patient and learning his or her story, the practitioner brings the patient into the discovery process and tailors treatments that address the individual’s unique needs.

  2. An integrative, science-based healthcare approach. Functional medicine practitioners look “upstream” to consider the complex web of interactions in the patient’s history, physiology, and lifestyle that can lead to illness. The unique genetic makeup of each patient is considered, along with both internal (mind, body, and spirit) and external (physical and social environment) factors that affect total functioning.

  3. Integrating best medical practices. Functional medicine integrates traditional Western medical practices with what is sometimes considered “alternative” or “integrative” medicine, creating a focus on prevention through nutrition, diet, and exercise; use of the latest laboratory testing and other diagnostic techniques; and prescribed combinations of drugs and/or botanical medicines, supplements, therapeutic diets, detoxification programs, or stress-management techniques
